Clothing pieces I packed for my 6 months abroad

I’m living out of 2 suitcases for 6 months, and as someone who usually loveeees getting dressed up and clothes, I’ve really narrowed down or had to simplify my wardrobe to sustain the 2 suitcases life abroad. Here are my must haves!

Tanks & tees 
Neutral colors are the talk right now. And for great reason, they go with everything. However, don’t hesitate to get unique colors if you find any you like. Color can change up an outfit and add brightness to the day. If you are just starting to build a new wardrobe, or if your style preferences are more minimal, a unique t-shirt can become a base statement piece.

Dark and light denim
Light denim is essential in summer, and dark jeans can make an evening look.

Nice belts with chic hardware
I love a good vintage leather belt. They hold up forever and look classic!

Trousers
I’m opting for all things linen right now – a classy look

Dresses
White or off-white
Colorful
Little black dresses
Maxi dresses

A good cashmere sweater.. or “jumper” as they call it in London
Lightweight sweaters you can throw around your shoulders (option to tie the arms around your neck) – so chic & make for the perfect day-to-night.

A good pair of platform sandals & ballet flats
Ballet flats and Mary Janes are peaking right now. And they are so chic and feminine. I love a platform sandal for how it elevates an outfit, literally.

If visiting Europe this year definitely pack your sandals and flats. If visiting London, or a city where you’ll be taking their public transportation, I personally prefer a shoe with more coverage, lift, or protection like the ballet flat or a Mary Jane. I personally like the daintiness of this shoe. If you prefer loafers, Clark’s has some comfortable options as well.

A pair of comfortable sneakers
Instead of white sneakers, I opt for an off white sneaker with grey/navy/etc for some visual layering.
Comfort is everything for me, some of my favorite shoes that support me and still look cute are: Dr. Scholl’s, Mexico Delegations, Soludos, Clark’s, and Adidas Gazelle

Crisp button-down shirts, slightly oversized
Perfect to throw over swim suits, dresses, and a casual light top to tie around your shoulders for a day to night fit

When investing in pieces, consider what looks good on your body shape and highlights your body features. Investing in classic pieces can be interchanged/layered for multiple seasons, and the more neutral bases you collect can be used for maximum interchangeability. (The interchangeability helps maximizes the choice of outfits while traveling.)
