Reconstructing my crossbody purse
I was cleaning out my closet when I picked up an old crossbody purse. I dusted it off remembering that I haven’t worn it for a bit. I held the bag up to my shoulder and considered selling it. In the mirror, the purse’s body was sleek, thin, and simple. I loved that part of the purse. Looking at it, I realized it would make the perfect shoulder purse if I shortened the strap–And, I would wear it a lot more too.
I took it to my tailor shop. The tailor cut the excess strap to alter the bag to sit perfectly where I wanted it–to sit near my waist. He kept the purse’s original chain and details.
My local tailor did such a nice job, and it’s now the perfect mini bag for a chic daytime look or a night out.
I love taking my closet staples and mending them as my style changes. Every time I wear this shoulder purse, I love it even more because it’s altered to my body and sits comfortably at my waist. It’s now the bag I grab for any night out.
